The Community Foundation is a community of donors committed to improving the quality of life and helping to build stronger communities across Greater Manchester. Since the Foundation began in 1989, over £17 million has been distributed to over 7,000 community groups and projects, changing the lives of many people in Greater Manchester.

The Foundation represents a new generation of social business, accountable, transparent, creative and active in engaging committed donors and matching them with areas of genuine concern. This is done in a manner that improves, develops and supports Greater Manchester's many diverse charity, voluntary and community organisations.

We realise our vision “Helping ordinary people do extraordinary things” by working with many different partners including successful locally based businesses, wealthy individuals, Local Authorities and the Government.

By channeling investment into areas of need and enabling local individuals and groups to turn their ideas into reality, we make a difference to the lives of people in Greater Manchester.
